My Puzzle (Featuring Phoebe Blume 2009)

PLAY - BUY -

Your puzzle is the only prison I've ever known.

Would you still love me if I failed you today?

Please don't deceave me, bereave me, its all too complicated anyway.

Would you still believe in me, encourage me, if I didn't do so great?

All of these moral compromises, sacrifices, was it all in vain? Were we both too late?

Should I list all the ways that our puzzle never really made any sense?

Should I listen to the people that said leaving would be best?

And
I find myself sitting here all alone in a broken home with nothing to show!

And
I really want to believe, to know some ease, but it all seems like more of the same.

Should we try to look past all of our hopeless defects?

Simply hiding from you has always been my best defense.

Now I'm ready to spread my wings, do new things, to hopefully be the best!

Can I count on you to be there to help me deal with this mess?

All this time has made me realize that we've been running up a hill since the day we met.

Too Many differences, opinions said, and a horrible animosity simply stuck inside my head.

Yet here I stand on freedoms door and I'm thinking about you, oddly begging for more.

And I won't lie, I'm hopelessly addicted... addicted to you-----

So why now should I just say yes?

My love is something I refuse to communicate in jest.

I'm done falling apart, breaking hearts, and failing in my own expectations!

Its time to find a better way, live a better day, something more than useless affirmations.

You are my complicated little puzzle that I covet and caress

Your imperfections, even dangerous, is something I yearn for no less

and
I don't know what our future holds, but to myself, no longer can lies be told.

And at the end of the day, I'll never be shocked that I lie here alone,

You're puzzle is the only prison I've ever known.

I have to break free, because no matter what happens, I have to be me-------

And live in your puzzle no more.
